PATH OF THE WARRIOR MASTERCLASS BREAKDOWN 1

Like mentioned before, most training programs lack compete mastery of the human body. After all, it’s not easy to train across different modalities — strength, speed, edurance, mobility, and especially cognitive focus! Let’s address how the Path Of The Warrior is different from other functional training programs.

Most Functional Training Program Problems:

❌ LACK OF ANY MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING

While functional training does improve performance. Most functional training programs lack any skills training leaving people unprepared for practical defense. “I’ve seen CrossFit and hybrid athletes perform countless rotational and functional movements, yet still lack the ability to properly move or throw a punch when it comes to combat sports”.

TRANSFORMS YOUR PHYSICAL BUT NOT MENTAL/SPIRITUAL

Most of these programs are designed to be in and out of the gym. They do not take into account breath work, meditation for recovery, along with training the brain to be cognitive and strategic. These are little things that make a huge difference in one’s life.

UNNECESSARY EXERCISE SELECTION FOR ACHIEVING STRENGTH

Imagine a modern athlete doing a row and press-up with a dumbbell. Now imagine an ancient athlete doing an inverted row and a handstand pushup. That’s real strength — most people will never achieve this level through a basic functional program.

This program includes 2 dedicated days focused on skill training and movement flow — incorporating elements like wrestling-based movements and mobility work. “While I come from a boxing background, I’ve often been told that I train like a wrestler — incorporating movements such as bridges, neck bridges, and animal-like flow patterns”.

I like to compare this form of training to that of a monk. Once the physical training is complete, we shift our focus inward — training the mind and learning how to calm the body. “In times of calm, your mind must not stay static. In times of haste, your mind should not rush”.

PATH OF THE WARRIOR MASTERCLASS BREAKDOWN 2

DAY 1 | PREPARATION LOWER

We’ll be training the lower body for explosiveness, power, and relative strength at 75%. This day will include accessory lifts, a warm-up for the explosive movements, the explosive movements lifts themselves, and the main lift

DAY 2 | TRIAL UPPER

On this day we work up to 100% effort for the upper body using ancient tools like indian clubs, gada maces, ropes, vintage weights and training calisthenics. Some of these can be done explosively so speed won’t be sacrifced.

DAY 3 | RECOVERY

The ancient Greeks called this day ‘Apotherapeia',’ which consisted of movement flow, breathing exercises, meditation, light conditioning, and other recovery methods. This day is performed at 25% effort.

DAY 4 | SKILL DEVELOPMENT

This day is dedicated to skill development for martial arts, or ‘Pankratiazein.’ It includes footwork drills, grappling, shadow boxing, bag work, and techincal refinement. We train at around 50% effort, with medium intensity.

This training split was inspired by the ancient Greeks, who used a 4-day training cycle called the “tetrad” to build a strong athletic physique and prepare for war. After the 4th day, you start back at day 1. This system helps maintain consistency and longevity, while also being flexible based on how you feel that day (more on this later).

In order to accommodate members this tetrad will consists of training 3 days per week, with another day being an off day active recovery.

Let me explain why I believe the lower body was not meant to be trained at extreme intensity. The lower body consists of larger muscle groups than the upper body, which take longer to recover. Training the legs extremely heavy can leave you sore for days, negatively impacting your athleticism. The upper body, accustomed to heavier loads, recovers more quickly. As someone who trains to prepare for war, you cannot risk days of soreness from heavy leg training — it will hinder your performance.

This 4-day tetrad can be modified in three ways:

1️⃣ Changing the lower and upper body split into full-body days:

Personally, I’m not a fan of this. As mentioned earlier, the lower body is not meant to be worked at 100% exertion. What about kettlebell swings or plyometric ballistic exercises — aren’t they full-body exercises? Not exactly. Kettlebell are primarily a hinge movement, which focuses on the lower body, even though some upper body development occurs. Rotational med ball throws and other ballistic movements — key word “throw” — prioritize the upper body’s rotational power. Jumping, sprinting, skipping, and hops are lower-body dominant, while throwing and core rotation are upper-body dominant.


2️⃣ Starting on a different day:

If you’re low on energy or need to recover from a stressful day at work, you can start on Day 3 (recovery) instead of Day 1 (preparation). You can then continue the cycle once you’re fully recovered. This flexibility makes the 4-Day Tetrad superior to other training splits — it was the routine built for warriors in ancient Greece.


3️⃣ Additional conditioning work on each day:

As an athlete, incorporating additional conditioning work is essential. Aerobic conditioning can be added after training sessions to help develop and maintain a strong aerobic base.

This progression in this program is unique. Strength comes from mastering skills that take weeks or months to achieve, particularly with main and explosive lifts. Accessory work and warm-ups can be modified more frequently, allowing you to adapt while maintaining consistency.

Most people never push far enough to unlock the deeper layers of their physical and mental abilities.     Additionally, there’s 30-mnute General Physical Preparedness section to improve Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance — strengthening the heart and lungs and improving oxygen delivery to muscles. It also helps with Work Capacity and Recovery — lets you do more work without fatiguing and recover faster between workouts. It helps with Fat Burning — increases your body’s ability to use fat for fuel. And it helps build Athletic Performance — speed, agility, and explosiveness.

    This Active Recovery Workout is optional. It’s up to you if you want to do a little bit more of extra work on your rest days. This workout can be done by yourself or with a friend on rest days. It takes about 30-40 minutes and is easy to follow.

  • This program helps you at any level—beginner, novice, intermediate, or advanced.

    However starting out it’s great to have a base level of strength, like performing 10 push-ups and 5 chins ups. That said, we’ve had many clients joining that couldn’t perform a chin-up and after the first month, managed to bang out 5.

  • Yes! We can adjust exercises to suit your preferences. If you have injuries or pain, we’ll work on them. I‘m not a licensed physical therapist, but I’ve studied with top therapists and coaches around the US and Canada for over 4 years. I’ve helped many clients overcome injuries and pain, and I continue to do so.

  • Yes. This program included two diet options:

    1. A Biblical, whole-foods diet focused on eating natural foods from the earth.
